Rules For Living

LAURA'S RULES FOR LIVING

Remember that other people were not put on this earth to make you happy.  The only person who can make you happy is you.

Don't blame everybody except the right body for your problems.  Take responsibility for your life.

If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.

When choosing someone with whom to spend the rest of your life, don't marry someone you can live with -- marry someone you cannot live without.

If you are fortunate enough to find love, love that person with all your heart.  He or she won't be around forever, and neither will you.  Life can change in an instant.

Before saying something, ask yourself these three things:  Is it true?  Is it kind?  Is it necessary to say?  If the answer is not "yes" to all three, don't say it.

Daily, treat each of your friends and loved ones as though he/she has only 24 hours to live.

Don't let minor disagreements turn into major blowouts.  Don't leave anything unresolved for too long.  Never, ever take anyone for granted.  Life is not static, and we are not immortal.

Respect the opinions of others, even if you don't agree with them.  The world is big enough for all of us.

Don't sweat the small stuff!  Don't let little things upset you.  Save your energy for the big things.  If someone's health, life, or livelihood isn't in jeopardy, chill out!

Above all, keep a sense of humor.  Hone it daily.  Laugh often, especially when the joke is on you.  Appreciate life's funny side!
