My Groups

My online communities

General guidelines - Each of my online communities is devoted to a specific subject, and while the discussions occasionally wander slightly off-topic, for the most part I prefer that posts to the group stay within that group's scope. This is only fair to all members.  So please don't post, for example, links to unrelated sites, news about celebrities who aren't part of the group's topic, or "chain" emails about  friendship, hugs, inspiration, politics, etc. (For security purposes, I have disabled message attachments in all of my Yahoo groups, so any images embedded in email posts will not show up; additionally, disabling attachments also disables html, so messages must be posted in plain text and will default to such if html is used when posting.)

Facebook and Flickr Groups:

Ron Dante and The Archies (Facebook group)

Oldies Connection (Facebook group)

Oldies Fans of Tampa Bay (Facebook group)

Oldies Music of the 50's, 60's and 70's (a photo sharing group on Flickr)

Yahoo Groups

Note—With the growing popularity of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks, I haven't been posting to my Yahoo Groups at all for the past few years (nor has anyone else). I have left them online so that the message archives remain accessible, and all groups are still open for posting by members (membership in Yahoo Groups is free; only a Yahoo ID is required to join). Please feel free to check them out and see if there are any you'd like to join. Thank you for visiting my sites!

My Yahoo Groups
(Unless otherwise noted, these groups were created by me)

Beatlemania 40

This forum is devoted to the greatest pop group of all time. Originally launched in honor of the 40th anniversary of Beatlemania (1964 - 2004).
Oldies and Bubblegum Music

Here's where all us fans of 60's and 70's pop and bubblegum music can share info about our favorite songs and acts of the era including RON DANTE (of the Archies and Cufflinks), ANDY KIM, MARK LINDSAY, PETER NOONE, and any artist from the era who holds a special place in your hearts.

The Brill Building

A forum for discussing the great Brill Building songwriters and producers (Phil Spector, Don Kirshner, Jeff Barry/Ellie Greenwich, Neil Sedaka/Howard Greenfield, Carole King/Gerry Goffin, Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil, Doc Pomus/Mort Shuman, Jerry Lieber/Mike Stoller, etc.) who turned out such wonderful music at 1619 and 1650 Broadway, New York City.

Oldies Music from the U.S., U.K., and Canada

This is for all lovers of the great music from the 50's, 60's and 70's to talk about their favorite songs and artists, post links to related sites, and share memories.

Official Yahoo Group for the New Orleans trio The Dixie Cups ("Chapel of Love," "People Say").  Come join us and interact with other fans and with original group members Barbara and Rosa Hawkins, who will be dropping by as time permits to read the posts.

This group is for people to advertise their oldies-related groups, sites, and web rings. Sites posted must pertain to the entertainment and/or culture of the 50's, 60's, or 70's. Owners of groups and/or sites on singers and actors from this era are encouraged to post their sites here, as well as owners of groups/sites that reflect the general "feel" of the era, such as classic cars, vinyl records, movies, TV shows, TV and radio commercials, and oldies music in general. You may also post links to your favorite relevant sites as long as the posting rules are adhered to.

Jeff Barry

Dedicated to the phenomenal career of songwriter-producer Jeff Barry ("Chapel of Love," "Baby I Love You," "Sugar, Sugar"). This is the companion group to the official site of the same name. Discussions to be focused on Jeff's career, past and present, as well as Jeff's work with luminaries such as Ellie Greenwich, Andy Kim, Ron Dante, Robin McNamara, The Monkees, Neil Diamond, The Ronettes, The Dixie Cups, The Crystals and more.

Originally created by Wayne Adderley and previously known as The Swinging 60's Zone, this group focuses on the 60s musical and related scene including TV and film.  We've a friendly bunch of people at the Zone - come join us!
